Our Team

Sabrina Mackin - Director

I established Clearpoint Consulting Limited in 2023 to provide independent surveying services.
I'm a Registered and Chartered Building Surveyor with 23+ years of commercial real estate experience in Ireland, the UK and Europe.
I'm proud to be a Fellow of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (FSCSI) and RICS (FRICS).

Previous Roles

Arcadis - Senior Director and Rep. Ireland lead of Arcadis. I was the first person in the Irish business of Arcadis in 2017. The extraordinary team grew from 1 person (me) to 26 people in 5 years, revenue grew from c. €250k to a €5m+. I'm excited for the team to continue growing.
Hollis Global - I was the second-in-command in growing the Hollis Ireland office from 3 people to 15 people in 3 years and growing the revenue, profit margin and brand sustainably to €1m+. Hollis are a trusted brand and consistently and conscientiously work to provide the best service to their clients.
CBRE - A was a senior team member in one of the best and busiest technical due diligence teams in Europe.
EC Harris (now Arcadis) - I led and grew the EC Harris Dublin Building Consultancy offering from 0 to 3 people and helped grow a revenue stream of c. €600k+ net revenue pa from zero.

Experience

I have inspected and reported on over 500 buildings / projects, in Ireland, UK and Europe. I've worked on €billion and €million projects. I've collaborated with global clients, lawyers, agents and finance specialists. I've managed teams of specialists including building surveyors, engineers, quantity surveyors, environmental and sustainability specialists.
I have worked with major Irish and global clients such as Smurfit Kappa, Irish Life, Bank of Ireland, AIB, Google and HSBC.
My key areas of expertise are leading and delivering Technical Due Diligence (TDD), Development Monitoring and Asset Management.
I'm a past Chairperson of the SCSI Building Surveying Professional Group and SCSI Committee member (2-year role).
I'm an established Non-Executive Director.

Market Activity and Background

I enjoy being active in the construction and property market, I believe you get back what you put in. I have presented to the Oireachtas and government committees on public interest matters such as the construction industry and the defective concrete block scheme, I have spoken at market events and published articles and best practice documents.
I'm proud to be a senior female in the property and construction industry. The percentages of women in building surveying are very low, only 8% of Chartered Building Surveyors are female, and only 4% of “Fellow” RICS chartered surveyors are female. The percentage of women joining the industry improves year on year, I believe that I have a responsibility to the industry to be a mentor.
I'm from Banbridge in Co. Down, I moved to Dublin in the mid 2000s and am happily settled in Churchtown.

Qualifications

2001: 1st Class BSc Hons in Building Surveying from Glasgow Caledonian University
2003: Chartership in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)

2023 and 2019: Sabrina spoke on a panel at the 2023 Bisnow Residential Conference, and also chaired a panel at the 2019 Bisnow Conference.

Sabrina helps write an independent Report to help a social emergency

2022: Sabrina was part of a team of Surveyors who worked to write and publish the independent SCSI report on Construction Costs for the Defective Concrete Blocks Grant Scheme.

Sabrina speaks at an Oireactas Information Day

2022: Sabrina spoke at an Oireachtas Information Day on behalf of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI).

Sabrina speaks to students at DKIT

2021 and 2023: in 2021 Sabrina spoke to a final year class of building surveyors at Dundalk Institute of Technology. In 2023 Sabrina was part of a panel of Chartered Building Surveyors who reviewed a masters conversion course in DKIT for SCSI accreditation, allowing more people with technical backgrounds to achieve a building surveying qualification.
